$170 worth of creativity

January 16, 2014

unnamed-1My love will be back in a few minutes with $170 extra in his pocket. He spent the morning mystery shopping and bam, we have $170 that we didn’t have a few hours ago!

We have done this quick rounding up of money many times in the past through many different avenues. We’ve sold hundreds of dollars worth of stuff on Craigslist and eBay, and made thousands through mystery shopping, window washing, cleaning, and childcare. And the list goes on.

And now, I’m about to embark on the adventure of selling a book I have been working on for the past year. It takes advantage of my background in orthodontics.

When you’re out there trying things like this, something wonderfully creative comes over you. You start thinking in different ways because you can no longer just show up for a paycheck. You start to figure out how to make the money to get the things you need and want.

I love the entrepreneurial lifestyle for exactly this reason!

You want a raise next week? Sure, then let’s figure out a way to increase your income before then. You want to be making double what you are making now? Sure, then let’s figure out a way to get there, to make it happen.

You see, there is no ceiling when you are self-employed. It is super hard work and it doesn’t always go as planned, sometimes you even fall flat on your face. But the work is so rewarding. You get to pour your heart and soul into it.

Ask this guy who got out of debt by writing a little book on getting up early. Or this beautiful lady who decided she liked taking pictures A LOT and turned it into a successful business. Or this gentleman and his family (including 7 kids) who had a dream of living in the Colorado wilderness, so he started this business helping other people become entrepreneurs. Or this guy who decided he wanted to host a daily podcast interviewing successful entrepreneurs. Oh yeah, he now makes over $80,000 a month doing just that!

I think they would all tell you that life feels so very fulfilling when you pursue the things that make you feel alive.

Get creative and use your God-given mind to create an existence that you enjoy!

Awesome Claudia! Congrats on the book.

Another way you could give yourself a quick income boost? Sell some of that fantastic artwork you’ve created. It’s amazing!

And I love your reminder about selling my artwork – I think this has come up a few too many times to ignore now! 😉

“There is no ceiling when you are self-employed”. Boom. That is my favorite aspect about being self-employed. There are no limits. Not only with income, but the potential to do anything. You can follow ideas, try new things, mess up often…there is nothing to keep you down. No ceiling.

    • Claudia Good January 16, 2014 at 6:13 pm

Totally agree Jody!!! And I love that you put a BOOM in there for emphasis!

Some things are so good the first thing you can say is Boom.
