There is a simple three sentence prayer which can make a profound impact on your life.  It can help you see how to overcome big obstacles and give you the courage and confidence to take bold action.

The prayer I’m talking about comes from the book titled The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale. In it, he shares how a struggling salesman started saying this prayer before each prospect he called.

The results were dramatic. The salesman’s closing rate improved so much that his colleagues started asking what he was doing differently. He shared the prayer with them and their sales improved too.

Since reading that book over a year ago, I’ve made this little prayer part of my everyday life. I say it before calling a prospect, before making a difficult decision, and before giving a speech or presentation. It gives me the extra confidence and courage I need because I’m reminded that God is guiding and directing my steps.

The prayer is as follows. Let its profoundness take root. Memorize it and take it on as your own.

_____________________________________________________

I believe I am always divinely guided.

I believe I will always take the right turn in the road.

I believe God will always make a way where there is no way.

You can see how there is power in this prayer. It can apply to any situation you might be facing. It will give you the courage to take action knowing that if you fail, it’s for a reason and will only make you stronger.

Will you take this prayer on as your own and experience the confidence and courage it brings?

I hadn’t run into that quote/prayer before – but that book has been on my list for while. Thanks for helping me get to the good stuff quicker!

Sure thing, Tom. It’s a great book and so much more than just “positive thinking.”

I can hear Vincent saying that prayer now – a favorite audio CD of mine. The jist of this is realizing we are not in control of 100% of things in life, but to do all we can and leave the uncontrollable to the Almighty. Thanks for the post!

Thanks for your insight, Michael. Totally agree. Do our best and have faith that God will take it from there.

I’ve listened to this one on audio as well. It’s a great one to relisten to, and I like that it’s read by the author.
