What is your life’s message? Do you know? Few of us actually see clearly enough to know what our life’s message is, let alone live it out. Our eyesight is dim at best.

To begin to see our life’s message we must first be able to SEE. So, how do we see?

True seeing requires perspective and clear vision. It requires looking up, looking out, looking past, recreating, remolding, reestablishing, replacing.

Seeing clearer requires QUIET.

It requires letting go of old words and replacing them with new ones, brighter ones, ones like possibility and tranquility. (You can’t say tranquility 5x without feeling more tranquil. Try it.)

Seeing requires the backs of your eyes and the depth of your heart. It requires movement, bold generosity, and bravery long since set on a shelf.

It requires opening up to hope, whimsy, love, and I think perhaps whistling or whittling, whichever you choose.

Seeing requires stopping, and marveling, and wandering, and wondering how things work.

When you do these things, something amazing happens. This time when you look, you will start to truly see. You will begin to see you have value, depth, and courage. And you also begin to see that you have a very important message that we need to hear.

What is your message? do you know? Are you brave enough to find out? I believe so.

Tim and I want to give to others. We have poured into others. Ive been working with Tim at his job. I have realized I hate working with the public! I have no idea how he does it. Some people have no respect. Then you come home and give to others. The Lord, says you should be a servant. Im not so sure about this road. I don’t think I am meant to be around tons of people. Tim is, but not me. I think Im supposed to work with objects its less complicated.

      Jenny,
Thanks for your comment! I see this desire to give in you both. I think you are doing a marvelous job! Perhaps your strengths lie in different areas than Tim’s but you can both be impactful to those around you! Just learn ways that you can make a difference which line up with your natural strengths. Perhaps Tim’s exact position is not a good fit for you 😉

Thanks Claudia! I read that “one” book but got it used and wasn’t able to take the test, because only one person can take it per book. Guess I will have to get it new…

Still trying to define who I am even at my age! I know it’s been a moving target through the years as I’ve matured, loved, lost and grew. Great insight.
    Claudia and Michael,
Wondered if you would or could help or give me suggestions. My daughter is a NY based fashion designer who has launched a new company and is in the infancy stages. She has designed a line of luxury handbags that hopefully will go to market in Sept. She is trying to get her name out there and I wanted to see if you could follow her at http://allenprice.tumblr.com and if any of your followers would too. She is from a small town in Tennesee going to NY to pursue her dreams and passions. It’s been an extremely difficult journey but she’s very passionate about this. Of course, I’m the proud mama so if I can help her in any way I will.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.
    Donna

      Donna,

Yes, and may you never stop in your journey!

Thanks for posting the info about your daughter Donna! I think that is great that she is out there trying things!!!
My suggestion to her would be to find a handful of people she admires in her industry (or in areas that relate to her biz) people that are doing great work, making a positive impact on society; and study them! Read all the books they wrote, follow their blogs, read articles about them, read the books they are reading, and study the decisions they made. Note their their successes and failures and why they were successes and failures. And, if at all possible, meet them in person!

Also, read, read, read or listen, listen, listen to any books or podcasts on building and growing a business and personal development / people skills.

I suggest Seth Godin’s books, blog for one and Dan Miller’s 48 days podcast.

      Hope this helps!!

Donna, I think that’s great what your daughter is doing. I love to hear of people chasing their dreams and going for it!

Thanks Michael. She is very determined and is working very hard to see this through. It’s been a huge learning curve but she has plowed through and is in the manufacturing phase. Soon she will have her samples to take to market! Very exciting.

That’s great. Love that she’s “shipping!”

Setting some time aside from the daily grind to do exactly what you describe can help a lot. I’ve found setting a “thinking time” at a minimum serves as a reminder to stop and observe – but has also sparked some of the most successful ideas I’ve had for getting my message out.

I hear you Tom! That time is so very valuable!!! I think it is amazing how our minds figure out problems when we give them the space and quiet to do so!!

Thanks Claudia for your advise. She has been in the industry for several years now and learned so much in what goes into producing goods. I know she will do great.
