The Lighter Side: Sudsy Ideas

March 30, 2012

“Everyone who’s ever taken a shower has an idea. It’s the person who gets out of the shower, dries off and does something about it who makes a difference.“- Nolan Bushnell

Question: Do you have sudsy ideas?

I have had sudsy ideas! But, I can’t remember what they were because either I didn’t write them down or the ink smudged as it mixed with the warm, sudsy lather….someone should invent a Soap Dock or something! 🙂

      Michael,
What a great idea! You know, I heard of someone that had an idea like that and actually took action on it. Very cool!

Haha – that’s great! My great invention ideas come after I see someone’s already done it – then I think – why didn’t I think of that!!

Haha – yeah, I know how that is sometimes, Ann. The saying goes something like, ideas are a dime a dozen. It’s the action taken on them that makes them valuable.

Loved the little cartoon. I’m not that much of a thinker in the shower… It’s more when I’m running or doing something active.

      Joe,
Something active like cross country skiing or swimming in Lake Michigan in March? 😉 I get some of my best ideas when I’m active too.

    Michael,

So true. We can read, study, go to conferences, etc. but if we never act on what we have learned then it’s just a waste of valuable time.

It’s like what Tony Robbins said,” A real decision is measured by the fact that you’ve taken a new action. If there’s no action, you haven’t truly decided.”

Dan Miller reminded me of a Thomas Edison quote last year that really lit a fire under my feet. He quoted “I have far more respect for the person with a single idea who gets there than for the person with a thousand ideas who does nothing”… That right there says it all, and now I’m shipping hard!

I love it, Rob. That’s a great quote, one I wasn’t familiar with. Thanks for sharing!

        Anytime Michael!

As Rob and Seth Godin say we have to ship. Never eas but always worth it. Blessings, Rob

Exactly, Rob. Ideas are a dime a dozen. It’s what you do about them.

    Love the quote!!!!

    • Claudia Good April 17, 2012 at 10:23 pm

Thanks, Kent. It’s either the shower or out running, right? I know that’s where you said you get your ideas.

      • Kent Julian April 17, 2012 at 10:30 pm

Absolutely. Running today in the rain led to a really good idea 🙂
