Voting For IDC Project

January 12, 2012

[polldaddy poll=5836806]

A little more about the IDC Project:
The I Don’t Care Project = 1 “Uncomfortable Situation” Every Week

We’ve realized how much what we do, say, and the decisions we make are influenced by what others may think.

The I Don’t Care Project is our way of counteracting that. We intentionally put ourselves in “uncomfortable situations” in hopes of overcoming this fear. These “uncomfortable situations” may include things like doing something other than what is normal and expected or voicing our opinions and beliefs more often.

The Purpose:
To train ourselves to take a stand for who we are and what we believe without worrying about what others may think.

I should probably be offended to be considered your “uncomfortable situation”, but I’m honored :). I’m voting for me!!!!

Excited to see about the results. Can’t wait to hear about the project! Btw, you know the ‘just be’ one? I am scheduling this for myself. I decided yesterday it is going to happen.

Good for you Char! Excited to hear what comes of it! Who knows what ‘crazy’ ideas might pop into your head when you are away from it all for a little. May you feel revived and refreshed!!

You should definitely do the “just be” one, but wait until the weather is nicer. I thought diffusing a conflict would be more exhilarating 🙂

      Meg,
You sure do like to live on the edge! I like the idea of a ‘just be’ day in the summer… maybe floating on a lake somewhere!

I think that you should drive to Virginia, but you should avoid Interstate Highways as much as possible. i.e. Take the BEING route.

    • Claudia Good January 14, 2012 at 9:47 pm

      Jason,
It sounds like you may have experience doing this? I like it a lot!

Not as much as I would like. We did a few back-country drives in Virginia, really nice place. Especially in May. Red-buds blooming along the roads, horse farms, small towns, beautiful estates, etc. Monticello was a great place to visit, and we fell in love with Williamsburg. (I’m a sucker for the way things were made a few hundred years ago!)

I once went on a photography “back road / ranch / ghost-town” trip in Oregon, and we spent the day driving through small towns, seeing old barns, historic hotels, etc. Great day!

Usually we are in too much of a hurry to “get to our destination” that we miss everything in between. Sometimes I dream of buying a motorcycle to cruise around with and be able to pull over on any shoulder I feel like.

          Jason,
Did you ever live out west or just travel? I used to live in Wyoming and we would explore all these old “ghost-towns”…. it was AWESOME! I love that stuff too.

Motorcycle cruising is something Michael and I have talked of as well! Gotta have a Harley for that 🙂

We live in Oregon. We’ve taken trips around the west and northwest, and in 2010 did our trip across the country for 10 weeks. http://sabbatical2010.blogspot.com/
The ghost-town trip was in Oregon, so not the Montana / Wyoming ones yet. Yet.

Wow, beautiful pictures! What a great experience for your children! Michael and I did something similar soon after we were married – but just for 3 weeks. Loved it.
