What If You Were Amazing?

“We live in an age of great events and little men.”
-Winston Churchill

If you took a test and found out you were a genius your whole life and never knew it, how would that change your outlook on life? How would you view yourself and your capabilities?

It would definitely change mine! If I was a genius…that would be amazing!!! I could be anything I set my mind to!

Imagine that…

Well, couldn’t I do that now? What’s stopping me?

Think about it.

“You become what you think about,” the famous quote by Earl Nightengale never rang so true! If growing up you were told constantly that you were really funny, and extraordinarily special wouldn’t you grow up thinking you were hilarious and, well, special?! And what if you were constantly told you were bad, or stupid?…

Without realizing it we end up living under the metaphors that either other people have given us, or we have adopted through our interpretation of life.

For example, do you look at life as being hard, like a battle, or lived like a beautiful dance? And how would your actions change if you changed your metaphor?

What if we all thought of ourselves as great!? Not in the prideful sense, but just truly capable of great accomplishments? Isn’t that how we were created?
And what if we DID live life like a beautiful dance…
Hmmm, imagine the change it would create in how you approached life?!

Here’s to a new generation of great events and TRULY great men!

I Know! But how so we stop living out of the lies? How do we stop being what we think we are. Even if we are not? I feel like I am at a crossroad. I see the lies. I see the truth. At least part of it. But the old thinking patterns are so ingrained in me…it feels impossible to completely shale them off. At times…they still control me. Ya know?

I hear ya yet again Char! You my dear have wonderful insight, I think you see more of the truth than you think you do ๐Ÿ™‚
I honestly answered the question “who am I” and was honest with myself. Which was quite revealing. I wrote down all the ways in which I presently see myself. And then wrote down who I want to be and what I want to be like and started focusing on the second list rather than the first one.
I am right there with you though! It is a daily struggle for me!
Zig Ziglar, Tony Robbins, Earl Nightengale all very inspiring as to how to change patterns of thinking

What excites me so much about this is how we can totally change our children’s lives by giving them the love, encouragement, and training to truly be able to do great things! Even if I never accomplish anything else, that’s a pretty big accomplishment by itself. ๐Ÿ™‚

      Ryan,
That is so true! It is a wonderful gift to give our children, and you are not only going to give Skylar that… You, Ryan, will give him the gift of being truly alive and of being a man that pursues his gifts and dreams!
