How To Make an Idea Board

September 18, 2012

We’ve been asked about the idea board in our kitchen on many occasions so we wanted to share with you how we made it and how you can make one of your own.

What a cool idea, Michael!  I really love that.  I keep an idea book – just jot notes down as they come to me so I don’t lose them.  But since I just did a vision board (it’s not totally done – but getting there) and I love being able to look at that – I really love this idea board too!  I’ll have to see where I can find a place to do a version of this!

I think a book is a great idea, Ann. Just somewhere where you don’t lose them. The idea board has worked well for us because it’s right there in front of us and we’re constantly reminded of what’s on there.

That’s what I like about your idea – it’s so accessible and available.

I’m with Ann.  I too keep an idea book.  Of course, I write down just about everything these day :))  Writing down your ideas/dreams helps you to clarify what’s good and what’s not.  Great idea Michael.

Thanks, Donna! I agree that writing these things down brings clarity. It really helps me process things.

Move over Martha Steward; Michael’s in the house 🙂  I got two pieces of large poster board paper for ours.  They’ve been sitting here for a week blank.  Today is the day.  Thanks for the kick in the pants.

Nice, Jody. Let the ideas begin!

hahaha, this reminded me of watching “This Old House” or some other woodworking show! Awesome.

I love the detail and practical “how to”  you bring to our lives Michael 🙂

I liked your idea board so much last month I bought two huge easel pads ($15/each, 50 pages per pad) and just hung them on my office wall.  Cost more than what you’ve done, but it’s convenient and quick.  Once the ideas have worn their stay, I just tear off the page and start fresh.  Way to motivate in a practical way, Michael.

Sounds like a great, quick way. I like it, Michael!
