    This is great!!! hahaha

I love the Dave Ramsey show. My wife and I took the Financial Peace University classes and are following his plan to become debt free.

That’s awesome, Dan. Claudia and I are also big believers in Dave’s message and philosophy. We haven’t taken the class, but have read his book and have listened to show a bit as well.

I recommend taking the class because its so beneficial. I also listen to his show and it’s a great one.

You know, the class was something I wanted to do, but have since forgotten about it. I’ll have to look into it again. Thanks!

I totally recommend the class. It really helps.

I remember picking up this crazy guy talking about money on a shortwave radio back in 1996 when we were in our 1st year of marriage. We were stacked with student loans and debt while I was working my first job out of college and I decided to call into the Dave Ramsey show. He told me to “SELL THE CAR”, we had just bought brand new and my wife said “Dave Who” and “he must be crazy”. Turns out he’s pretty smart! He sent me a copy of his first book all the way back then.

Michael, haha! That’s a good story.

I can hear Dave saying, “SELL THE CAR! SELL THE STINKING CAR!”

I probably should, I seem to have taking a liking to Dan Miller more at the moment. Dave is the man, more folks need to think the way he does.

    • Michael Good April 21, 2012 at 9:27 am

I love Dan Miller’s stuff too, Mike. Different message, two standup guys.

I haven’t – yet – but I’ve heard so much about him and the Financial Peace University – I have to add that to my list of things I want to do – soon!

    • Michael Good April 21, 2012 at 9:29 am

Listening to Dave and getting on a written budget via him was huge for our marriage, Ann. I love his no-nonsense approach. I makes things much clearer and easy to understand.

Even though I’m not going to go as far as that couple, it’s kind of funny. If Ashley had met Dave before me, she’d be Ashley Ramsey. That’s how important he is around here. 😉

    • Michael Good April 21, 2012 at 9:26 am

Haha! That’s hilarious, Ryan! I know you guys are committed to getting your finances to where you want them and are making it happen!

While I don’t listen to Dave Ramsey, we have read his books and been to one of his live seminars. He’s a man who’s learned from his mistakes and is helping people get over theirs.

As a funny aside, when my wife and I first got married, we attended one of the seminars. She kept looking at me and saying that he sounded just like me. It always cracks me up!

    • Claudia Good April 23, 2012 at 10:10 am

      Haha, love it, Joe!

What about him reminded your wife of you?

      • Joe Lalonde April 23, 2012 at 11:00 am

Mostly it is my views on money. And it’s funny because I wasn’t raised on Dave Ramsey but my dad’s views closely mirrored his and I picked them up. she would always hear me talkinga bout how we need to spend less than we make, buy used cars, pay cash for purchases, etc…

          Sounds like wisdom, Joe!

I used to all the time, and now I catch some shows here and there… Several years ago when I was driving in my commute during rush hours, I’d be able to catch him in the afternoons… Because of him, My wife and I did FPU, and got serious with our money, and because of him we found Dan Miller and that led a whole new world of wonderful things. I love Dave’s principles, what he stands for, I also think he’s hilarious, but truly I also believe his heart is genuine. The guy is amazing!

    • Michael Good April 29, 2012 at 11:20 am

      That’s awesome, Rob!

Your journey is similar to ours, thoug we haven’t done FPU. We found Dave Ramsey on an interview on another podcast. That than took us to Dan Miller and so many of the awesome folks we know today.

You know, I don’t even know. Are you fulltime with your coaching business?

      • Rob Clinton April 30, 2012 at 10:43 pm

Yes sir, I am… Full-time, makin’ it happen… Now, there’s a lot that goes into that of course. I’ve worked several odd jobs here and there along the way after I was laid off, and my wife still continues to want to work at the restaurant. She’s a blessing doing that for us, but I believe we could pull the plug on the restaurant anytime now, and double time the business, but we’re still working through that part… But again, yes I’m full-time, and loving it!

        • Michael Good May 2, 2012 at 11:18 am

Rob, that’s awesome! Glad to hear that you’re doing it. Congrats!
