I continually work at trying to find ways to grow. Yesterday I attended the Chick Fil A Leadercast hosted by my home church. It was an awesome event. It provided a personal platform for growth as well as an opportunity to network.

    • Michael Good May 5, 2012 at 12:44 pm

Cindy, I’ve been hearing so much about those and would have loved to go! Who did you hear speak?

      • Cindy Hirch May 5, 2012 at 5:58 pm

There were quite a few speakers…Andy Stanley, Marcus Buckingham, John Maxwell, Urban Meyer CSU Head Coach, and Tim Tebow just to name a few. There were others that I was not familiar with but who delivered a great message.

I have seven pages of notes from the Leadercast…I’m still mulling some things over in my head. -:)

Awesome Cindy. I wanted to attend the Leadercast but didn’t make it. Who was your favorite speaker?

      • Cindy Hirch May 5, 2012 at 6:24 pm

Hi Joe – that’s a hard one because there were a few that really stood out in my book….I’m still reading my notes and some things are still sticking with me. But Andy Stanley and John Maxwell would be my top two picks.

It really was a great event. It was my first time attending.

That’s a pretty good reason not to even own a recliner, right?! We’ve taken action lately, as you guys know. Not everyone does, but you guys are “in the know” and soon we’ll be “public” with everything. πŸ™‚

    • Michael Good May 5, 2012 at 12:43 pm

Absolutely, Ryan. Yeah, I guess, out with the recliner! Well, we don’t have one anyway.

You have taken action and it’s starting to pay off. Well done.

      • Ryan Ash May 5, 2012 at 9:57 pm

We don’t have one either, so there ya go! I sometimes wonder how people have time to sit in a recliner.

        • Michael Good May 5, 2012 at 10:32 pm

Yeah, that and watch TV, right?

          • Ryan Ash May 5, 2012 at 10:43 pm

Yep! I guess that’s another thing that we have in common…no recliner and now no TV.

A perfect thought and quote from Tony. I know Tony, and he has that determination to act. His ability to take thought and turn it into action is what makes him so successful. You may want to see my interview with him: http://www.skipprichard.com/delivering-happiness-at-zappos-and-beyond/

I checked it out, Skip. Thanks for sharing. Yes, his boldness is admirable!

Just yesterday someone asked if I would be interested in being interviewed on his radio show Tuesday and even though I know it will be a busy day at work – I took action and accepted the invitation! Now I have to outline what I will discuss and provide him with 10 questions! I will take action on THAT in the morning – today we celebrate my son’s birthday πŸ™‚

    • Joe Lalonde May 5, 2012 at 5:13 pm

Wow Ann! Congratulations on being asked for an interview.

    • Michael Wright May 5, 2012 at 7:20 pm

      That is exciting, Ann!

    • Claudia Good May 8, 2012 at 12:03 pm

Ann!! That is great!!! How did it go??? Can we listen to it anywhere?

  • Joe Lalonde May 5, 2012 at 5:12 pm

I’ve taken action on compiling information for an eBook I’ll be writing. Hoping to have it out by August. Next step is committing time to sitting down and writing everything out.

    • Claudia Good May 8, 2012 at 12:02 pm

      Joe,
Your writing an ebook too?? Awesome! How’s it going?

      • Joe Lalonde May 8, 2012 at 1:20 pm

I’m planning on it Claudia. I’ve got a couple of ideas floating around but my procrastination has set in. It’s been difficult to get time in to write it between the day job and blog posts.

Hoping to start the actual writing in the next week or two.

There’s actually three ideas that I’m planning to hit.

        1. A book of 101 tips on leadership, marriage, or faith. Most likely leadership.
        2. Snagging 11 or so of those tips and making it into an eBook to giveaway to subscribers.
        3. A book of advice on job hunting. It’ll be focused on a specific area of job hunting and how to do it more effectively.

What are you guys putting together?

  • Michael Wright May 5, 2012 at 7:25 pm

I think I’m going to start selling recliners….97% of the folks out there use them as specified in the cartoon. Must be a huge market..I started listening to Delivering Happiness on CD this morning- very interesting – almost like he was born to be in business. My blog was my latest call to action and now that it’s a habit I put together a rough sketch of an e-book on Friday. Still pondering what direction it should go…

    • Claudia Good May 8, 2012 at 12:01 pm

hahahah Michael… that is a great thought!!!!

Wait, your going to do an e-book? That is sweet!!!!! Did you decide which direction to take it??

      • Michael Wright May 8, 2012 at 12:55 pm

Claudia, it will be a short book “Autism – Navigating the Waters” (or something like that). Basically a short introduction to parents once they get the diagnosis. Kinda what to do next, what your options are, nutritional considerations, our personal insight, various critiques of therapies offered, etc. Most of the books out there are huge and it’s like diving into a sea of information and you just want to get started helping your child.

Great post. Have thought about taking all the furniture out of living room so we have to become more active. Might have to try it aft seeing this. Blessings, @missioncoach

    • Claudia Good May 10, 2012 at 11:44 am

      Rob,
What a great idea! Hahah! Have you tried this before? What gave you the idea?

      • Rob Coburn May 10, 2012 at 10:53 pm

I actually got the idea when we had a property that I was staying in after we moved. No furniture keeps u moving. Lol

Inertia will always win, unless you’re intentional about making it happen… This year, I’ve acted on a specific vision, and so far it’s a been non-stop success of getting things done. If I didn’t know what I wanted before the year began and how I was going to hold myself accountable, I would be somewhere else right now and probably without any products I’m sure. This year has been amazing in activity and fun, and I’m so looking forward to what 2013 may even bring…

    • Claudia Good May 14, 2012 at 8:28 pm

That is awesome Rob! Hope the bootcamp goes well… and you had a book or an e-book come out right?! You have been getting things done! Rock on man!

      • Rob Clinton May 23, 2012 at 4:51 pm

Thanks Claudia! Yes, the boot camp was awesome! and as far as books, absolutely! It’s all electronic now, but we’ll be printing in the 3rd quarter! Definitely rockin’ on! πŸ™‚
