In another 2 weeks, 2012 is going to be a quarter of the way past. This means that you should be a quarter of the way towards accomplishing your goals.
I encourage you to take some time and pull your goals for 2012 out and see how you’re doing. Hopefully your goals are specific enough that you can quickly see whether or not you are on track.
Now’s the time to make some adjustments if you see you’re not going to make it to your destination on time.
Question: Are you on target to reach your 2012 destination on time?
Michael – the time is just flying by and it’s SOOO easy to slip into that rut of being controlled by the urgent and neglecting the important! A great and timely reminder – I will be reviewing today – Thanks!
Yeah, it’s crazy isn’t, Ann?! Claudia and I are going to be working on a mission statement and reviewing our goals over the weekend.
Michael, thanks for the reminder.
Sure thing, Rob. Reminding myself as well.
Where IS my Goal Sheet, anyways?!?! Thanks for the reminder. I only have 3 main goals this year. Two of them I have plastered on my wall on posterboard. I can’t ignore them, I see them every day. My 3rd goal (extra income) has remained somewhat nebulous into the 2012 year and thus it has somewhat faded. It’s a harder goal for me, so I’ve let it do so. I’ll put up a 3rd posterboard today! OK – I just did!
I like it, Michael. That’s a great idea to have them right there in front of you!
The main goals I have, I’m on track to hit. These include writing, personal, and professional goals. While some less important goals I have stopped focusing on.
Great post and reminder to focus on goals.
Sounds great, Dan. It sounds like you’re focusing on what’s most important and making it happen.
Great reminder! We should keep regular checks on our map throughout the year… Quarterly assessments are excellent times to do this… Well, it’s works well for me, as I schedule my goal bursts in 90 days increments, and it’s makes the end of year planning much more effective…
“Goal bursts.” I love the creativity here, Rob. Thanks for the input!
Michael,
Time flies when you’re having fun! Actually, I rate myself on my goals every month — A, B, C, etc. I also keep track of the hours I spend on my goals, so even if I don’t reach my goals I can see how much time I invested. At least that way I know if it was an issue of me not putting forth enough effort or me not setting an unreasonable goal. So, although I’m not where I hoped to be in my current writing project, I have invested a great deal of time that was necessary.
Have a Victorious Day!

Marianne,
I like the grading idea. That’s a great way to look back and see how you’re measuring up. I bet that helps you keep the bigger picture in mind.
