I look at myself in the mirror on many occasions. I look at my eyes. My eyes tell me lots of things.
They told me for years to make changes.
They told me to address unresolved issues.
They told me to finish the race I had started, to pursue things that brought life, not death.
They glimmered hope at me. Hope that my life didn’t have to be an endless road of disappointments.
They glimmered with untapped strength and courage, but only for a second. It was always followed with the same look of discouragement and sadness.
My eyes had lost their shine. They looked small, dull, and lifeless.
I became obsessed with regaining the shine in my eyes. I would look at them every day.
I read, I prayed, I journaled, I cried. It dawned on me that no matter how often I cried about something, it didn’t change unless I changed. I realized what I had to do. I had to take action. It was time for change.
Glorious, life giving change. I let it come, I pursued it, I wrapped it in my arms and embraced it.
I changed. I changed and my eyes are shining again!
We all know what we need to do. Why else would so many people not look themselves in the eye? Our eyes give us away. Our eyes don’t lie. We often just lack the courage to do what needs to be done.
Take heart, friend. Take courage, it is waiting to be embraced. Let change come, wrap it in your arms, and let your soul come alive.

Question: What do your eyes say?
You definitely have a wonderful, contagious sparkle in your eye everytime I see your videos! Mine are saying – hang in there – keep pushing forward, the breakthrough is right around the corner!
Haha thanks Ann!
I agree with what your eyes are saying to you ๐
Thanks Claudia!ย ๐
Your “sparkling eyes” help others’ eyes sparkle too, Claudia.ย Both you and Michael have that sparkle in them.ย Reminds me of the movie “Mr. Magorium’s Magic Emporium” – the lead character is looking for that twinkle and sparkle….I think you two would love that movie.ย One of my favorites.
Well thank you Michael, that is encouraging!
Ohhh, I have never seen that movie, I’ll have to check it out! ๐
I can surely testify that the sparkle in your eyes has never been brighter, my friend!!
Annette,
It’s been a long time coming! ๐
Loved catching up with you friend!
I see that sparkle too, hon. ๐
not without you my love!
You glow Claudia~it’s very evident when I watch your videos.ย I love to see your smile. Keep pushing through dear one! God has great plans for you.
Thank you Cindy! That really means a lot!! You have blessed me greatly!
mine are a little dull still,ย a lot of things brighten them, but this job has got to change! ย I have a plan and I am just to scared to make the move.ย Tip toeing in right now.ย Nice post.
Hey Mike, hang in there. I totally understand.
There were two times recently that I was very scared for big changes: starting a family and quitting my job. They happened about 4 months apart and have been the best decisions ever! I had a plan like you, but was scared to make the move. Thankfully, Claudia kept nudging me me along. ๐
