In light of my recent post on happiness, I thought this quote deserved a post of its own.
“Many persons have a wrong idea of what constitutes true happiness. It is not attained through self-gratification but through fidelity to a worthy purpose.” ~ Helen Keller
Question: What is your worthy purpose?
She was an absolutely amazing woman and that’s a great statement. I would have to say my worthy purpose is to be a blessing in any way possible, first to my own family and then to anyone I meet. I consider every post I write, every newsletter I put out and anything I do for a client to be part of my worthy purpose. Making a healthy, delicious dinner for my husband is part of my worthy purpose. Speaking encouragement into someone’s life is part of it. Sharing what God has so generously given me I guess is the bottom line.
Well said Ann!
Beautiful Ann! You are always an inspiration to me!
My purpose as best I can sum it up is to encourage. At home, at work, volunteering at church, at the supermarket, in the blog-o-sphere. I don’t always have the right words (especially in person), but I like to let people know they are loved and special
and you do a great job of it Michael!! Thanks for living out your purpose with such wonderful intentionality! 🙂
As long as people have hope; I can help them rise above their perceived circumstances & expectations. I can help them come alive…
hmmmm, well said Rob!
