So, we have some big goals we want to put into action but are facing some roadblocks (which are probably just in our heads) as to how to exactly implement them and give them a timeline. We need some help.
We are the plan, plan, plan kind of people with a side of impulsive, crazy, wild abandon mixed in. The over-planner in us has reared its head and we can’t fully see how the plan to achieve our goals would work. However, the wild abandon side says, “If you put a goal out there, you will then figure out a way to make it work.”
We have found this to be true in other areas of our lives. Take the leap and the ground will appear. This is just a bigger leap for us.
So, help! This is where your words give us wings and help us push forward.
Do you have any stories of inspiration or encouragement as to how you planned and implemented your life changes? What made you take your leap?

… and thanks for this!
Do you know Gordon?? Did he just start this blog?
Hi Claudia, I met Gordon last weekend. I recorded his talk, and was really inspired by him. He will be adding a shorter promo video (cuts from the longer one) to his website soon. He’s working to create a DVD with his talk and doing inspirational speaking.
OK, Video is up:

Only a few minutes of his whole 30 minute talk, but it’s interesting.
That is awesome Jason. Thanks for sharing it!
I heard Gordon speak last weekend, and he made a good point about stepping out in faith. If you don’t step, you might be standing on the ledge of a burning building.
Wow, Jason,
That is a powerful mental picture! Thank for this!
Claudia, I am very much a planner as well, so I can’t say I’ve done anything “leap of faith-ish” in my career, except for leaving my first job out of college and moving to Atlanta which was sort of like being in a foreign land for me and my wife. I was fed up with that job environment and decided it was time to move on. The day I resigned they were about to dump another huge job responsibility on me and it was perfect timing. I did it for that reason and also because the Queen was miserable where we lived. The times I’ve done something impulsive have always been for my family’s health needs and treatments for my wife and daughter. Many times didn’t know how I would even pay for it, but it did get paid for in the end and I never thought twice about doing it.
It all comes down to family for me. If you envision how you really want life to be in 1, 2 or 5 years – it can really motivate you to take some leaps of faith.
Michael,
It sounds like you are indeed an adventurer 🙂 You have quit a job and moved your family and you drop everything for the needs of your wife and daughter.
It really makes a huge difference to have 1,2, and 5 years envisioned. I totally agree!
