The dishes are important. The kitchen gets disgusting if they aren’t done.
The laundry is important. We would be running around naked (or at least stinky) if it wasn’t clean.
The emails are important. Yes, they are.
But, ultimately what is important is doing the stuff that God implanted in my heart and spirit to do.
You see, when I paint and create, I feel alive. When I write, my spirit soars. When I take pictures of beautiful things and help make other people happy, I am happy.
When I do dishes, my spirit shrivels a little… especially if I haven’t nourished it with things that make it soar.
If all I do is the things that appear important but neglect the gifts that have been given specifically to me to express, my life is pointless. Why would we have such amazing gifts if we are to only set them aside?
What makes you feel alive? Are you doing it?

What a precious picture!! He’s gotten so big. I have pictures like that with my children and I have them enlarged and on my dresser so I can see them every day – you will cherish that one when he’s about to turn 30 like my Christopher!!!
Oh wow! Great idea, I know I will Ann 😉
