Love 41 And Calling For Help

July 13, 2012

Today I am going to share a short video that really hit home for me. This is Suzette Munson with Love 41.

[tentblogger-youtube AngWaksv-WE]

Love 41 is a retail business that sells handmade and unique items from around the world. Our profit will go towards helping orphans, widows and street kids in third world countries by educating, training, feeding, and showing them acts of compassion.

Suzette and Love 41 inspire me to do something I love and change the world while doing it. Check out her complete story here. This video challenged me to reach out more often when I need help.

Hope this challenges you as it did me!

Question: Do you ask for help when you need it?

What’s Up With The Lack Of Guerrilla Moms?

July 12, 2012

So, you will notice that I talk a lot about podcasts, audiobooks, and other great sources of information that are out there for all to consume.

Michael and I literally spend hours tossing around marketing ideas, talking through goals both personal and business, and talking about the latest podcast we listened to. I love thinking of growing a business online and what that would look like.

I just have one question.

Where are all the other moms and girls out there that have these same interests?

I know they are out there. I’m not saying everyone has to be like me, I understand many are not. Surely though there are more of us with entrepreneurial desires than are speaking up.

Any other ladies want to read Guerrilla Marketing or Thou Shall Prosper with me? 😉

Pat Flynn

July 11, 2012

Have you ever thought about making money online? The benefits are many and include increased freedom and flexibility. You can even make money while you sleep!

This is what Michael and I are ultimately pursuing.

Pat Flynn

I have been listening to the Smart Passive Income podcast by Pat Flynn and this guy rocks! He has multiple streams of income all online and supports his family (very well)  with no 9-5 hours and no daily commute.

That, to me, is a dream job!

Stop The Bleeding With Gratitude

July 9, 2012

Wow, sometimes my thoughts are my own worst enemy. Once I start down the path of having a crappy attitude, things can spiral downhill pretty quickly. It’s during these times when I feel the urgent need to stop the bleeding and get back on track!

A simple way to do this is to remind myself of everything I am grateful for. I stop the bleeding with gratitude.

Two people I’m grateful for

Sure, there are things I wish were different. For instance, there are things that I’d like to do differently in my business. Plus, after looking at my Twitter feed, I wish I was at the World Domination Summit with Chris Guillebeau. Oh, and a little more sleep would be nice too!

But the reality is, we all have those things that we wish were different. My list might be different from yours, but we all have a list.

Help

July 6, 2012

So, we have some big goals we want to put into action but are facing some roadblocks (which are probably just in our heads) as to how to exactly implement them and give them a timeline. We need some help.

This boy helped us change!

We are the plan, plan, plan kind of people with a side of impulsive, crazy, wild abandon mixed in. The over-planner in us has reared its head and we can’t fully see how the plan to achieve our goals would work. However, the wild abandon side says, “If you put a goal out there, you will then figure out a way to make it work.”

We have found this to be true in other areas of our lives. Take the leap and the ground will appear. This is just a bigger leap for us.

So, help! This is where your words give us wings and help us push forward.

Do you have any stories of inspiration or encouragement as to how you planned and implemented your life changes? What made you take your leap?

Honest

July 5, 2012

So, Michael and I have been sitting in the “think-tank” today grinding through ideas for this blog and talking about the nitty gritty of life. We have decided to take rise365 in a new direction for the month of July.

Lancaster, PA

One of the changes we will be implementing is that you will be seeing fewer posts by Michael and more by me.

We are freeing Michael to focus more on the business aspect of our lives for a short spell. We had to drag him away kicking and screaming which just shows just how much we BOTH LOVE writing here and interacting with you all!

Is Silence Comfortable?

July 4, 2012

Today Michael and I had an interesting conversation. It was about silence. And no, we didn’t just sit there in silence and stare into one anothers eyes. We talked and there were wonderful, thoughtful pauses between our words, silence.

by D.J Kaufman

A good conversation ebbs and flows like the tide. It has health and healing entwined deep within it.

It is peaceful, you know, a little silence. It settles comfortability on your mind and gives it room to breathe.

We talked of silence and realized it is a missing link in most conversations. We hurry, pushing our own words into every crack and crevice available.
