Someday syndrome

We all have things that we say we’re going to do “someday.”  It might be going into business for ourselves, going on a big family adventure, or spending more time with our spouse.

We have a tendency to think, “When I have more time and/or money, then I’ll be able to do those things.”

But for most people “someday” never becomes a reality. This is “someday syndrome,” and if we fall prey to it, it will rob us of our life.

Life tends to keep rolling along and most people’s dreams are continually put on the shelf until tomorrow. We keep saying, “Someday, I’ll get to it.”

Isn’t it time to realize this is our life, right here, right now — and to make “someday” happen we need to move forward NOW? (click to tweet)

Yes, there are seasons to life (ups and downs) but far too often we use this as an excuse for not making any forward progress on what we feel in our hearts. We give into fear and talk ourselves right out of our dreams.

We weren’t made to simply watch life pass by, waiting for “someday” to fall into our laps. Let’s move past the fear and challenge ourselves to step forward in faith. This is our life, right here, right now.

“This is your life. Are you who you want to be?” – Switchfoot

What have you been putting off until “someday” that you could be moving forward on today?

It’s time to stop making excuses and start living the only life you have been given! (click to tweet)

Take it from the voice of experience….SOMEDAY is like the carrot one is chasing but can never catch. Love the Switchfoot quote and the message it carries – love hearing it on Michael Hyatt’s podcast….particularly the end “This is your life now go make it count”. Thanks for sharing!!

Love the picture! I agree Michael. Someday never seems to happen unless we take action. I keep working on making my “someday” happen today! Thanks.
