Good motto…the Wright family has gotten rid of the “Shoulda, Coulda, Wouldas…” NOT ALLOWED in this home! π I don’t want to say there is no such thing as a bad decision, however, those decisions (be it bad or good) are the only way to move FORWARD in life. I can understand wanting to save things. I’m no hoarder by any means, but I still have class notes from Engineering school (think 20 years ago) that I’m still holding onto….maybe I’m thinking I’ll use them someday?
Is this the first time making Red Lentil Coconut Curry? I can’t say it sounds like something we’d experiment with in our home. π
This is true wisdom, Michael, and those are great things to get rid of (Shoulda, Coulda, Wouldas)!
I can want to hang on to things too, however I’ve experience great freedom when getting rid of stuff I don’t use.
We’ve made this recipe once before and really liked it so thought we’d try it again. Plus, it’s a little different than some of our usual meals and it’s nice to change it up.
If you’d like the recipe, I can scan it and send it to you.
Michael, thanks for the recipe offer, but curry is one of those spices that I can’t handle for some reason, and I am not a picky eater at all. I had a co-worker from India that would invite me over to his house and the wave of curry that would emerge from that house would knock me over when he opened the front door!
Too funny! One of my related favorties sayings I’ve heard of is when people tell you what you should do about this or that is to reply “Don’t SHOULD on me!” LOL
You are both so right – second guessing decisions is usually a bad, well, decision! I know my daughter used to have that problem on tests – she would study and answer the questions and then go back and look them over and second guess herself and more times than not, she changed a right answer to a wrong one! I agree – do your due diligence – get advice – but once you make the decision – move ahead and leave it alone! By the way – red lentil curry sounds delicious!!
My personality type has no problem making decisions. It sometimes frustrates me to be around people that can’t make decisions, but I probably frustrate people that like to plan sometimes. I’ll make a decision, and if I don’t like it I’ll change it 5 seconds later. This brings to light, that sometimes I could probably spend a bit more time planning before I make that decision, so that I don’t have to change it once I start.
That’s the “D” in you, Ryan. We analytical folks need you to get our butts moving sometimes. There’s something refreshing sounding about just going with a decision even if you’re going to change it 5 minutes later. I bet your head is a lot clearer this way.
I know Ashley is more S/C wired. Does she like to plan more?
Amen! I try to spend little time with sitting on thoughts when I know something needs to happen, because it would definitely drain me. Use that energy for more important things like putting that decision to work. Great stuff; great video!

That imagery is great! Haha…
On a side note, I was telling Claudia I like that you’ve eliminated the Shoulda, Coulda, Wouldas and she jokingly said, “We should do that.”

It is, Ann! Just had some for lunch.
I remember hearing some teaching saying the same thing about you’re first answer being your best answer. Funny how that works.
I looked up your recipe online and couldnt find your particular one. Can you help?
Jenny,
It is from the Simply in Season cookbook. Do you have that one? It turned out great! Tell me if you want it and I’ll email it to you.
I dont have it yet. If you could email it. That would be great
Sometimes mom helps to much…
Here’s a photo copy. Not sure if it’ll be clear enough for you! Let me know.
Claudia – can you email me the recipe? It wouldn’t print. Can’t wait to try it.
Cindy,
I just sent it over! Let me know if you didn’t get it.

Yep! She’s not as much of a planner as a worrier sometimes. π

Thanks Rob! Indeed, that is great advice… I am learning to do the same and it feels absolutely amazing!
