The Boy

March 22, 2012

It’s a little crazy – life, that is.

It’s a little bit wild – this ride.

It’s a little bit hard – at times.

It’s a little bit spectacular too.

Today I held my son while he screamed and I held my son while he laughed.

The ups and downs are… well, what are they?

When it’s bad, I want good.

When it’s good, I want better.

When it’s better, I’m afraid it is going to be bad.

I saw the sun today.

I cried with my husband today.

I felt loved today.

I felt pushed to my limits today.

This, however, is life, isn’t it? It’s wild like the sea. It has its mountain top times and valley lows. It can be grating like the sound of the boys skateboarding outside my window. It screams to be lived and attended to like my baby boy. He is living lifeย out loud.

He is taking it all in, the joys and the pains. He laughs readily and cries honestly. He smiles big, bold smiles and screams in delight at anything that pleases him.

He lives life out loud.

I am going to join him.

Question: Who inspires you to live life out loud?

Claudia, it is crazy how much we can learn about life just by interacting with our children. My two girls teach me new things every day. Joy, pain, bright, and dull, each day is an adventure. I am going to try to let the business of life fade into the experience f living their life from there view.

      Rob,
Each day really is an adventure! ๐Ÿ™‚

You are a special dad when you are always connecting with your daughters hearts!

No question about it – my children have also been my best teachers in how to truly be myself and enjoy life to the fullest! And by the way – your son is a doll!

Thanks Ann! I think he is too ๐Ÿ˜‰

I love to hear other moms say that!!

No doubt my 6 year old. I have become more playful, more aware of the little things, in the smallest details of life. I am writing now because of her. Deep things within that wanted to come out in the past, now have a voice. Your son has beautiful eyes. I’m sure he’s hypnotized you and Michael with them many times.

      Wow,
That is so interesting Michael! I think it is the same for me in terms of taking action. I have always written… but I now take action on things I write about rather than just writing them.

His eyes are very captivating! That is always what people notice first.

That is a cute picture! Jude is precious ๐Ÿ™‚ My wife and children definitely inspire me to live out load… When we get together we get silly… There’s no reason to hold back, there’s no inhibitions except that my kids are afraid of kisses… Yes, that’s right, Nicholas has officially convince my little Alena to shy away from kisses as well… No bother really, I still sneak them when they’re not looking… Life is crazy, life is fun, but it’s a wild, adventurous, and amazing story… I’m thankful to be living it!
